Ponsonby Doctors also provides this service for cosmetic purposes, where we remove a mole, wart, or cyst that provides no risk to your health but is nonetheless undesirable.

This includes full, punch or shave biopsies, and cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen).

Our highly skilled doctors will provide a full consultation prior to your surgery; discuss your options and each of their risks and benefits; and advice on post-surgery wound care.

All suspicious lesions are sent to the laboratory for analysis, and results conveyed to you by email / phone. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for results to be available.

You may require a subsequent procedure depending on the result of your biopsy. You may be referred to the public health system, or another specialist for this.

If you have private health insurance such as Southern Cross, the cost of these procedures are often fully covered.
